Why It Matters
Summer isn’t a break for everyone. While many enjoy vacations and beach days, thousands of families with school-aged children face empty pantries and rising uncertainty. With schools closed and many seasonal donors away, summer becomes the hungriest time of the year.
- Food bank donations are down nearly 30%
- Child food insecurity is on the rise
- 15.9% of children in Collier County face hunger
- 17.8% of children in Lee County are food insecure
